Why Home Time
I trained as a primary teacher at Liverpool John Moores University, qualifying with an outstanding grade for my teaching practice and a genuine love for the classroom. After several years working across primary schools, I was made permanent in a secondary SEN school, working with pupils with severe learning difficulties, an experience that has shaped how I think about education, and about SEND, ever since.
Over the following five years, the workload, bureaucracy and mounting expectations gradually wore that love for teaching down, until I made the difficult decision to leave the classroom for a different career.
I genuinely believe that if the AI tools available today had existed then, I would still be teaching, with a proper work-life balance, better resources, faster planning, stronger organisation, and better outcomes for the children in my care. That's what Home Time is built to do: help teachers, teaching assistants and SLT teams use AI to reclaim their time and reduce the pressures that wear good staff down, without ever compromising the standard of education pupils receive.
Every session is built around UK safeguarding and data protection expectations from the outset, not bolted on afterwards. The goal is never AI for its own sake. It's staff capacity, confidence and consistency, with AI as the mechanism rather than the point.
